***If you are a songwriter who wishes to perform, please bring a copy of your lyrics for the judges.

Songwriters and industry professionals will judge each round, with the winning songwriter from each round, plus four wildcard entrants, earning a spot in the finals. It will be $5 for a songwriter to enter a preliminary round. There is no cover for anyone wanting to come and watch some of the best songwriters in the area share their talents, but it is strongly recommended that you purchase some food or drink from our hosting establishment.

The finals will be a single-elimination competition with the winner receiving a hand-blown glass trophy from Conway Glass, a recording package from Southern Harmony Recording Studio, a house concert at Studio Kook and a featured slot for the Live Oaks Art & Music Festival in October. Other contestants will receive an array of prizes from local and regional merchants.

Are you doing the songwriter contest again in 2018? I just moved to MB and would be happy to get involved. I have produced several small blues festivals in the past.
